![]() Then, when that month arrives, I pull out my files and I have plans in hand for the upcoming season as well as art for the Feast Table display. I keep themed material in my files – artwork for the month, craft ideas, prayers, field trip ideas, picture book themes that coordinate with a season, holy cards for saints feast days, etc. Each month gets two folders – one for seasonal plans and one for liturgical year plans. In the bottom drawer is my collection of files for the year. Lastly, a small collection of post card sized art prints for seasonal displays round out my top drawer. I keep a medium sized journal with a pink quilted cover and a collection of favorite stationery in there as well. In the top drawer I have things like CDs with my favorite Notebooking Pages, Blackline Maps, and some of my other educational CD collections I’ve collected over the years. I keep my laptop on top of my file center. ![]() It is nestled between the art center and window. Tucked in the corner next to the window is a small workstation for me. I moved to the other side of the room for a few months, but decided that I really, really missed the way the sun danced across my desk in the afternoons…I’m much happier on the sunny side of the room! I moved my desk back to the sunny side of the room. It is quite warm and inviting which I love. You can get an idea of how deliciously sunny our space is in here. I think I’ve said this before, but this is our dining room…re-purposed for our learning spaces. The first pictures are just some whole-room pictures…stepping waaaay back and looking in so you can get an idea of the overall. My goal was to look on my spaces with fresh eyes and really see those things that I am accustomed to looking past because of familiarity. I tried to imagine what might be unique in my spaces…a small area or vignette set aside on a shelf, or a simple but creative solution I finally figured out. If there is something unique or helpful here, take it. I took lots of pictures ’cause you all asked…and I do so love getting ideas from each of you as we peek through these digital windows into each others spaces for ideas and inspiration. It's the ideal curio case for small designs and model plans that you need to show off.I’m offering you the VIP tour today. Everything can be seen quite clearly in the cabinet, and since the glass is surrounding the items, you are able to view them from any angle. The case is designed to be placed on top of another piece of furniture, such as a chest of drawers or medium-sized display unit or table. The edges are lined with steel or another metal, or could consist of detailed sterling silver or rose gold. This design is a glass box, rectangular in shape and almost completely glass all the way around. The traditional style of curio case is long rather than wide, although modern alternatives have now presented a different look to the market. While there may be further small details which are attached to the case, such as flowers or spirals, it is most common to see a case which is free of extra embellishments and is focused on a sleek and modern design. However, you may see various colors when looking at these items, including white, grey, rose gold and red. The most popular color for this style is black, which fits the Japanese design well. Within the circular rounded section of this furniture unit are shelves which alternate. ![]() The circular metal frame is supported by a horizontal base, allowing you to position the case somewhere of your choice without having to balance it. This is a unique style for a curio display case, and it will fit perfectly in a minimalist and modern home. The frame around the case is often hardwood with a sturdy base so that it can be positioned without any problems on either a floor or other piece of solid furniture.Ĭircular Japanese small curio display case ![]() The small size of this furniture means that there are usually around 6-7 shelves on which to position your small ornaments and other items. Although larger items may fit, they may look squashed and out of place. Since the cabinets are small, they are ideal for storing small items, but not great for the larger items. This may have a glass window covering the shelves, or it may be open which allows for ease of access. ![]()
